what is a pilgrimage?

More than sightseeing, more than a holiday. We take the opportunity to learn as much as we can on the road. We stop. We listen. We change. Taking a pilgrimage is making a choice to know the past, so that we can change the future.

our journey

our journey

We start at points all around Australia, and spend ten days exploring our country. We learn about the traditional cultures of the lands we pass through.

our destination

our destination

Uluru is in the heart of Australia. The stories and history surrounding Uluru represent the beautiful and painful past that many of us know so little about.

our hope

our hope

We hope that young people come away from the Pilgrimage with a heart to make a difference, in their own lives, in the lives of others, and in the world that they inhabit.

Fusion has dedicated teams in 16 locations all around Australia, delivering a range of local programs and services, including youth housing, parental support and working within schools. The Pilgrimage to Uluru is one of our biggest programs, and over the past 17 years we've taken thousands of young people on this life-changing trip.

Acknowledgement

Fusion Australia acknowledges the incredible design of our Creator, who in the beginning decided that it was right and good for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders to be resident here, to care for this land and enjoy the fruit of it. We continue the Indigenous cultural traditions of respect, servanthood and honour by offering our respect to the Elders, both past, present and future, of the land on which we work, and in so doing, we join with and will continue the restoring, reconciling and healing work of our Creator within and between all the peoples of Australia.
